| Sitting in the bijou, exquisitely-decorated Bistro des Z’Artes restaurant in Almancil, it is easy to forget it has only been open since 2006. With renowned chef Stanley van Buren at the helm, word of mouth has spread and the intimate eatery has already reaped enviable acclaim as well as a healthy regular clientele. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, having the intimate antique look that is characteristic of bistros and a cosy, relaxed atmosphere with friendly, efficient service. The menu is a fusion of French essences with international flavours and twists, thus offering the creme de la creme of global cuisine. Presentation is taken to the highest levels of professionalism, a must for Stanley who believes that first impressions are the most important as “food must look as good as it tastes”. The
